Melissa and Trevor

|
| I looked forward to this wedding all winter. A bride fulfilling her childhood dream of getting married 'on the lake" at her family's summer home. Their wedding took place just south of Vernon on Kalamalka Lake. It was a pretty special day and I'm sure no one in attendance would disagree with that. I was treated like a guest all weekend by Melissa and Trevor's family and friends. Thank you for your kindness. |
| Sister and mom helping to get Melissa ready. |
| Melissa arrived to the ceremony in the ski boat. Her dad going to pick her up. |
| Trevor and the Melissa's dad greet at the end of the aisle (dock). |
| The new couple arriving at the reception. |
| Toast from Melissa's sister. |
| Having heard hundreds of speech I don't get wowed much any more, but these guys did a great job. Wow. |

Anh and Jimmy

|
Anh and Jimmy had a traditional (Calgary style) Vietnamese wedding that started early and ended after many bottles of Hennessy had been emptied. It was a long day but worth it. Some of my favourites...
This was one of the first things I photographed around 8am. Good start. |
| A young guy waiting for things to get started. |
| The groom and his guys bartering for the bride. |
| ...more dangerous bartering |
| Moms helping with one of the gifts. |
| Grandparents at the tea ceremony. |
| Dragon dancers during the reception. |

Janet and Jeff

|
I'm a bit behind on my blogging these days as we're fresh off a great summer holiday. It was so much fun to come back to this wedding after not having looked at it for a couple weeks. What a stunning day.
Lynn Fletcher Weddings designed and executed the whole day. It's always really exciting for me to see what she'll come up with next and she didn't disappoint!
Here are a few of my favourites.
Detail of the dress. |
| One of the groomsmen (nephew to the bride) making the most out of his tux rental. |
| This was a crowd pleaser. Two groomsmen, father and son. |
| Jeff getting a hug from his new Father-in-law after the ceremony. |
| Pierre Marleau of Orange Frog Productions was responsible for producing the crazy lighting idea that Lynn Fletcher dreamed up. Well done. |
| There was an open mic and lots of time between courses for the bride and groom to visit. Their reaction to a song sung by one of the guests. |
| Famous Players Band added so much energy to the room it would have been tough to stay on your butt. |

Yael and Scott

|
Emerald Lake was the location for Yael and Scott's wedding. These two must have used up all their good luck for the year as this was just about as perfect of a day as your going to see in the mountains for a wedding.
I started off my day by heading up to the cabin the guys were getting ready in. You know when you see this combo you're in for some laughs. |
| A peak at the bride through the window, with the lakes reflection in the window. |
| Scott wasn't planning on crying but I caught him here trying to hold back the leak. |
| A few candids after the ceremony. |
| The girls enjoying some of the guys drink. |
| The bartender mixed up the Emerald Lake colored shooter. It was actually pretty decent if you like mint. |
| Guests were treated to some really nice speeches and a great meal. Yael and Scott were able to sneak out for a few portraits before the dance. The lake looked amazing after sunset. |
| Its always dangerous pointing a camera at a guy in a kilt (who doesn't wear them often), on a chair at lens height. I recommend an angle from the side. |

Sheri and Craig

|
To be honest, as I drove out to Banff on my way to Sheri and Craig's wedding, I was pretty sure that I was in for a tough day. I passed through three separate downpours and it looked like it was a pattern that was going to repeat all day. My forecast was actually pretty accurate, but these two seemed to have all the luck and somehow managed to have the sun shinning when they needed it and rain hitting when it didn't matter. All in all it was pretty much a perfect day.
We started off doing some portraits. Here's a really simple one of the wedding party. Not sure what I like about this so much, but it just seems relaxed and happy. |
| This was the scene at the start of the ceremony. The weather held, although the JP did talk pretty fast. |
| I didn't plan on this but once I put these two photos side by side I couldn't help thinking about how quick kids grow up. On the right is Sheri's brother and his daughter. Sheri's parents on the left. |
| I loved the take away center pieces. |
| Lots of cute kids at the reception. |
| Craig's brother in law delivered an unbelievable speech. |
